What is hospice?
Hospice is not a place. It’s a way of providing end-of-life medical and supportive care … where you live.
Hospice begins when a terminally ill person chooses care options focused on comfort and symptom relief rather than on a cure. At the center of hospice care is the belief that each of us has the opportunity and right to:
- Live with dignity, free of pain and other distressing symptoms.
- Connect with those that we love in meaningful ways.
- Know that our loved ones will be supported by the professional hospice team.
Midwest CareCenter hospice teams provide a compassionate presence and specialized knowledge to our patients and their families as death draws nearer.
Our interdisciplinary team works to relieve your suffering, control your symptoms and enhance your quality of life through a range of services delivered wherever you call home. Each team member—including your own doctor—contributes a distinct perspective and depth of experience as they care for you. And we remain sensitive to your personal, cultural and religious values, beliefs and practices.
We walk beside you.
