Sometimes you need inpatient care.
Midwest CareCenter hospice inpatient care offers patients and their families hospital-level care in a supportive, homelike environment. Until our Marshak Family Hospice Pavilion is open to patients in the fall of 2012, our inpatient hospice care is temporarily located at:
The Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation
"A" Wing, 4th Floor
9700 Gross Point Road
Skokie, Illinois
The same compassionate Midwest CareCenter staff will continue to manage Midwest CareCenter inpatient services, providing exceptional care and support for patients and their families in this temporary location.
Sometimes, even though you have chosen to be cared for at home, your condition may change and require 24-hour nursing care and monitoring to ensure your comfort and safety. The length of stay in the hospice inpatient unit varies; however, it is not a long-term care facility. Our ultimate goal is to provide the care you need to relieve your symptoms and help you return home.
Hospice inpatient care offers a full range of services to serve the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. You will be cared for by our hospice physicians, nurses, certified nurse’s aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers and bereavement counselors. And, of course, your own doctor remains an important part of your care team.
People of any age may visit; arrangements also may be made to bring family pets. Visiting hours are unrestricted and can include overnight visits. (Some rooms include daybeds.)
The Medicare Hospice Benefit and Medicaid cover inpatient care when it is medically indicated. Private insurance offers similar coverage, and we will work with you to explain and evaluate payment options. We also offer charity care and financial assistance to qualified patients.
