Our physicians are fully trained and experienced.

Every Midwest CareCenter hospice patient is assigned to a care team that includes a physician—a hospice medical director—and receives visits from that physician when medically necessary. Our clinical staff includes 12 physicians. Many have been with us for a number of years. For example, Martha Twaddle, MD, chief medical officer, has been on staff for nearly 20 years and is a nationally recognized leader in hospice and palliative care.

All Midwest CareCenter physicians are board certified and 92% are certified in hospice and palliative medicine. Additional board certifications include geriatrics, internal and family medicine.

Each of our physicians is affiliated with one or more local hospital systems, including Lake Forest Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Rush University Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital of Evanston, Swedish Covenant Hospital and Weiss Memorial Hospital.
